DESCRIPTION
The 2nd Annual AirPeyton Memorial 5k Walk/Run for Pediatric Cancer will be held Sunday, September 11th, 2022, at Montpelier High School (MHS). This event's namesake is a courageous and amazing young man named Peyton Smith who battled Ewing's sarcoma, a form of pediatric cancer. Peyton graduated MHS in 2020 and aspired to be a famous designer making sneakers for professional athletes. This in-person & virtual walk/run, honoring Peyton, has inspired the local community along with friends and family to contribute in numerous ways. When the 1st Annual event concluded, over $6,000 had been raised for The Jimmy Fund Clinic and Make-A-Wish Vermont. This year, the event looks to increase its partnership with Montpelier's middle and elementary schools along with other school districts in Vermont and participants from Norwich University. Note: This event is being held both in person, and virtually, wherever you may be in the world. In person start time on 9/11 is 11:00 at MHS!
