The St. Johnsbury Band will offer a new program of a musical or show tunes, various marches and an Overture. The concert is Monday evening August 15st at 7:30 PM, weather permitting.
This concert will feature a children and parents parade around the bandstand and Courthouse Park, led by Becky Mackin, former baton twirler and volunteer Drum Major while the band plays a march. We had planned this for last week but the grass was too wet. Gary Aubin and Kirsten Harter will direct the band.
The free ice cream social is sponsored by Passumpsic Bank. The ice cream will be Strawberry Cheesecake and two other favorites. Both the concert and ice cream social are free and open to the public. Only two more weekly concerts with free ice cream remain, so don't miss out. Any donations support the band's new music program.
Children of all ages and their parents are invited to march in the parade. You may wish to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. For safety reasons the State of Vermont requests that children not climb or play on the cannon.
