The Newfane Congregational Church Pastor Search Committee is pleased to announce that the Committee's recommendation for our new Pastor is Matthew J. Deen. The voting members of the Search Committee unanimously voted upon this recommendation. Rob Hamm, our beloved Pastor for more than 10 years, will retire as of September 25, 2022.
Matt Deen comes to us with 5 years of UCC ministerial experience. He has been the pastor at Marlboro Meeting House for a year, he has been the In-Care Minister at Centre Congregational Church in Brattleboro for 2 years, and he was a Community Minister at Judson Memorial Church in New York City for nearly 2 years.
The congregation of the Newfane Congregational Church and community members are invited to meet Matt and spend some time getting to know him on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Light refreshments will be served.
Matt will host the worship service on Sunday, August 21, starting at 10:00am. Immediately following the service, members of the Church will attend a special meeting to vote on whether to accept the Pastor Search Committee's recommendation.
This is an exciting time for our Church. We hope that Church and community members come to the Newfane Congregational Church on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21.
