We will begin our meeting at 6pm with two executive sessions, one regarding collective bargaining with the fire union and a second session regarding the bond request from the School Department for the Burlington High School/Burlington Technical Center Project. Together, these executive sessions will take approximately 60-75 minutes.

Once out of executive session, we will have our public forum at 7:30. Following any climate emergency reports, we have several items on our deliberative agenda, as follows:

• We will be voting on the request from the School Department to place a ballot question on a November ballot for up to $165 million in bonding to construct a new high school and technical center.

• We will be voting on the Referral of Determination of Rank Choice Voting Sub Methods to Ordinance Committee. Once through the Ordinance Committee, the further request will be to have the City Attorney the ordinance language based on the recommendations and direction from the Ordinance Committee.

• The Charter Change Committee has been working on bringing a Charter change to the March 2023 ballot regarding legal resident voting. The Committee will be updating us on their progress and soliciting input from the full Council.

• We have 3 resolutions on our agenda: one to approve a loan for upgrade planning of our wastewater infrastructure, one asking the city's mapping specialist to create a 7 ward redistricting map, and a resolution to create a Local Cannabis Control Commission (similar to the Local Control Commission for liquor control.)

• We will be voting on an authorization to execute contracts for the Elmwood Emergency Shelter Community.

• We have a request to accept an FAA grant to update our Noise Exposure Maps at our Airport.

• We will close out our deliberative agenda with a public hearing followed by a vote on two ordinances regarding steep slopes and Burlington High School zoning.

I would encourage you to check out our agenda on board docs at http://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public.

As always, I welcome your questions, concerns, and comments, so please be in touch. Your voice matters and I am grateful for your input.

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend.

My best,
Karen
