George Matthew Jr., Carillonneur for Middlebury College and Norwich University, is also the organizer of Middlebury College's summer Carillon Series. Each year, musicians from around the world come to Middlebury to perform in the Chapel's bell tower, soaring high above the college campus. This week, Mr. Matthew himself sits down at the keyboard to perform a special Middlebury-themed program, with pieces written by faculty past and present, alumni, and other friends with local connections.
Listen from the Middlebury Chapel steps or the surrounding lawns, in the heart of campus. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Rain or shine. Free and open to all.
Please note: the final concert in this year's series will be on Friday, August 19, also by Mr. Matthew-- but that concert has an earlier 3:00 PM start time, as a prelude to the Language Schools Commencement.
