Lake Arrowhead Nature Canoe / Kayak Paddle Sat. June 21, 10 to Noon

Naturalist Laurie DiCesare will lead a meandering paddle around the shores of Lake Arrowhead on Sat. June 21 from 10 to noon. We'll focus primarily on emergent plants and insects, (especially dragonflies) but will also talk about the osprey, herons, Canada geese and other birds and critters that we encounter along the way. Meet at the boat launch near the high bridge. Please carpool.
Note: Rain Date is Sunday June 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. (Contact Laurie if it's raining Sat.)

Laurie is a member of the VT Entomological Society (the insect club that welcomes enthusiasts of all ages) and the Milton Conservation Commission (which is looking for two new members.) She specializes in edible / medicinal plants of the northeast and has been studying dragonflies and their smaller cousins, the damselflies, since 2007. She is compiling a species list for Lake Arrowhead and other local parks and wetlands. Laurie's Green Events list, including other free insect outings; Laurie's NatureHaven Day Camp and edible / medicinal plants workshops and classes, is available by contacting her at 802-893-1845 or NatureHaven8@Hughes.net.
