Even though the Galaxy Bookshop got flooded, the Books and Brews event is going to take place on Thursday, August 11 at 4:30 pm at Front Seat Coffee on Main St. in Hardwick.

What's happening? A panel of one book seller and three authors will talk about books they recommend. The panel includes: Galaxy Bookshop co-owner Sandy Scott on the panel are three esteemed local authors: M.T. Anderson (Feed, The Daughters of Ys), Daphne Kalmar (Stealing Mt. Rushmore, A Stitch in Time), and Christine McDonnell (Sanctuary, When the Babies Came to Stay).

Tickets are $20 and include will include entry, a donation to the Jeudevine Library, tea and coffee and a buffet of empanadas and sweets made by the bakers at Front Seat. Alcohol will be available to purchase by the can or bottle at Birdsong.

You can buy a ticket now at Birdsong Beer and Wine, or the Jeudevine Library. You can also call the library at 472-5948 to reserve a spot and pay at the door! Space is limited.
