Children & Parents Parade, Free Concert & Ice Cream!

Past event
Aug 8, 2022, 7:30 to 8:30 PM

The St. Johnsbury Band will offer a new program of a musical or show tunes, various marches and an Overture. The concert is Monday evening August 8 at 7:30 PM, weather permitting.

This concert will feature a children and parents parade around the bandstand and Courthouse Park, led by Becky Mackin, former baton twirler and volunteer Drum Major while the band plays a march. Special music such as 'Teddy Bear's Picnic' will be on the play list. Gary Aubin and Kirsten Harter will direct the band.

The free ice cream social is sponsored by Northern Counties Health Care. The ice cream will be Cookie Dough, Moose Tracks and Salty Caramel. Both the concert and ice cream social are free and open to the public. Only three more weekly concerts with free ice cream remain, so don't miss out. Any donations support the band's new music program.

Children of all ages and their parents are invited to march in the parade. You may wish to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. For safety reasons the State of Vermont requests that children not climb or play on the cannon.

Join your friends, neighbors and children of all ages for an evening of music with some ice cream! For more information, email manager@stjohnsburyband.org or Like Us on Facebook for updates. The full schedule of concerts and ice cream social sponsors are on the band's website on the Calendar page; just go to www.stjohnsburyband.org and select Calendar.
