Our vision for pollinator-friendly plantings and habitat at the new Pownal Town Hall is taking shape. We have selected an initial planting site and are looking for volunteers Sunday morning to help with light shoveling and weed-pulling to help us get ready for plants coming soon. Having the help of 3-4 volunteers for 30-60 minutes would be perfect and we already have a few folks signed up!
Details:
* Sunday morning, August 7, from 9:30 - 10:30 am
* Park at the Pownal Town Hall (467 Center Street)
* Meet at the spot where the new Town Hall sign will go (where the Christmas tree used to be) - you'll see us!
* Bring a shovel, weeding tool and/or weed bag, if you have them
* My cell: 917-407-6543 and email: margaretcoady@gmail.com for any questions
Please contact me if you think you can join. It shouldn't be too hot at that time, and it will be a great way to meet some fellow gardeners and hear more about the project! If you don't have time to help but want to come say hello, please visit us.
We're also looking for a woodworking neighbor who might be interested in building bird house kits that kids can help us assemble, or someone who can advise us on bird houses that are right for local birds.
Stay tuned for more activities coming up from us this fall. And always feel free to reach out to share your interest.
Warmly,
Margaret
