Sister Speak Band steps onto the Tuesday Night Live Outdoor Stage, Legion Field in Johnson on August 9th for another family friendly event from 6 to 8:30 PM.
Sherri Anne is at the core of Sister Speak. Her compelling vocals and lyrics are supported by a rich acoustic guitar and the talents of her band-mates Sarven Manguiat, Stephen Haaker, and Jacob Miranda Jr. Sister Speak combines passionate Alt/Blues and a touch of world music. Sherri Anne grew up on Vancouver Island, BC and spent time residing in a variety of cities that have influenced the Sister Speak sound with inspiration from a variety of cultures and styles.
Tuesday Night Live is free thanks to the support of local businesses. Just bring a blanket or chair. A variety of vendors on site including Waffle Wagon, Mediterranean Mix, Green Mountain Kettle Corn, Nepali Kitchen, Kingdom Creamery Ice Cream, Omakase, JJ's Maple Cotton Candy and Maple Popcorn, and Fire on the Mountain Wood Fire Pizza. The Historical Society bakers offer lots of choices of pie and Alice's cake, which may sell out quickly so stop by early to make sure you get a piece. The grilled McKenzie hot dogs have been in great demand too. Good food with great music at Tuesday Night Live.
Parking is along School Street, in the Elementary School Parking lot, and at the McClelland Building lot on College Hill. Rain or shine. Be sure to give a thank you to the sponsors of Tuesday Night Live, who are listed on the yellow panels next to the Tuesday Night Live stage. Summer showers may dampen the enthusiasm for a few minutes; but it is lightning and thunder that stops the music.
