The South Burlington Democratic Committee will be holding an in-person nominating caucus for the positions of Justice of the Peace on Wednesday, August 10th at 5:30pm at the South Burlington Community Library, Community Room, 180 Market St. South Burlington.
We welcome all South Burlington registered voters who wish to join the SB Democratic Committee and participate in this process.
We will nominate candidates for the November general election ballot to serve 2-year terms as Democratic Justices of the Peace beginning February 2023 and ending February 2025.
Our Justices of the Peace have primary responsibility for operating and supervising our elections in March, August and November under the guidance of the City Clerk. Other duties involve work on property tax appeals and tax abatement requests as needed. Optional duties consist of acting as a marriage officiant and/or public notary.
