Learn about the art of making traditional kimchi with Insuk Durham as she guides us in preparing a batch. Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish made from fermented, spiced vegetables, and fish sauce.
Insuk has been making and eating kimchi her whole life. Her knowledge comes from growing up making kimchi with her mother, grandmother and all the women in her neighborhood in Jeonju, South Korea. They would all get together every autumn for "Kimjang," a communal kimchi making gathering.
All ingredients will be provided at the workshop and participants will learn and help make the kimchi. Everyone will go home with an 8 oz. jar of kimchi.
Participation is limited to 15 people.
This event is organized by Neighborhood Roots Food Collective.
