Atlantic Crossing in Salisbury
On Friday, July 29, at 7:30 p.m. the Salisbury Summer Performance Series will host the return of Atlantic Crossing to Salisbury. Viveka Fox (fiddle, bodhran, djembe), Peter Macfarlane (fiddle, whistles, mandolin, vocals), and Rick Klein (guitar, vocals) will bring their lively mix of songs drawn from Celtic traditions and Maritime and French Canada, New England lore from the likes of Middlebury's Helen Hartness Flanders Collection, and original songs based on local history. Designated American Masterpiece Artists by the Vermont Arts Council and Vermont Folklife Center for their contributions to the state's heritage, they preserve our folk traditions through their distinctively rollicking, joyous performances marked by rich harmonies, driving rhythms, and abiding sense of fun.
The concert will occur indoors. We request that you wear a mask unless you have been fully vaccinated, and we welcome those who prefer to remain masked even though they are fully inoculated.
This will be the fifth of eight concerts in Salisbury's forty-second Summer Performance Series, which will run through August 25 at the historic, but handicapped accessible, 1838 meetinghouse in Salisbury Village. There is no admission charge; a free-will donation in support of the series will be appreciated.
