This July 28th from 6-8 pm, the two Democratic contenders for the US House of Representatives will be gathering at Jenna's House (117 St Johns Road, Johnson, VT) for a Town Hall on the Opioid Crisis. Join Lieutenant Governor Molly Gray and Senate Pro Tempore Becca Balint as they discuss their plans to tackle the complex issues underlying the opioid crisis-- and issues of substance abuse more broadly.
This is going to be a unique format where each candidate will be given 20 minutes of solo time with two moderators and pre-submitted questions from the audience, allowing them to dive more deeply and widely into the complex issues of the opioid crisis.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, overdose rates and the number of people with substance use disorder and addiction issues has only grown, with the need and demand for services far outpacing their availability. In Vermont alone, we have lost almost as many people to overdoses as we have to COVID-19. Chances are, you too have been directly affected by this crisis. Now is the chance to make our voices heard. Hope to see you there!
Seats are limited! Register here for free tickets and submit your question to the candidates: https://jennaspromise.org/town-hall/
