Stop by this weekend and see multiple plantings of lovely hybrid colorful daylilies at two gardens within about a mile of each other near Poker Hill Road in Underhill. One garden specializes in luscious purples and lavenders, one in reds, but there are many colors in between. These are one woman operations, works in progress, and you will see stray pots, weeds, and piles. However, we think the beauty of the daylilies is too wonderful not to share with others.
Susan Skelly is at 502 Poker Hill Road; the newest American Hemerocallis Society designated display garden for our area with many many purple and other varieties.
The gardens of Deb and Warren Kiel are just off Route 15 on the Allen Irish Road, just across from that entrance of Poker Hill Road.
The coolest time of the days will be late afternoon evening when some may have faded but many will still be gorgeous. Garden visits can start at 9:00 either place.
