Many thanks to all of you who took time out of your evening on Monday (8/19) to attend the Selectboard's public hearing on the Rural Area Zoning proposal! There were 60+ people in attendance, and about 26 people offered comments. I saw several new faces in the room - i.e., folks I don't recall seeing at previous meetings, forums, and public hearings. The comments were diverse, positive and negative, and some were empassioned. Everyone was respectful, even when on completely different sides of the debate. It was an impressive hearing!

The Selectboard will hold a special meeting on Wednesday (8/21) at 7pm at the Town Office (lower level conference room) to discuss possible revisions to the proposal. The final proposal will be posted to the Town website shortly thereafter - hopefully by 8/22, and no later than 8/24. The Selectboard will then hold the second required public hearing on the final proposal on September 9. They may vote on the proposal on September 9, after the close of the second public hearing.
