Farmers Market June 12

Past event
Jun 12, 2014

Hi folks,

Just a reminder to add "Go to the Farmers Market" to your Thursday afternoon plans. Jericho Farmers Market enters it's third week of 2014 season in full force. 3-6:30 Thursdays through Oct 2.

This year we have two different meat dealers: Perry and Janet of HomeandAway Farm will have more beef, and our new vendor Agricola, will have pork, lamb and chicken.

Local meat is something customers have been asking for more of, so we're pleased to have the offerings from these two farms.

More about Agricola Far: , Alessandra Rellini, Hinesburg (they are in the process of moving from their leased land to a farm they recently purchased in Panton, VT. . alerellini@gmail.com

From Alessandra:
The soul of Agricola Farm is our pastured pigs that we use for the production of high quality charcuteries (salame, prosciutto, pancetta, bacon, coppa, and gourmet sausages) prepared following the Italian traditions for cured and smoked meats. In addition, on our pastures we raise heritage poultry (quail, rare chickens, faraona (guinea hens), and heritage turkeys) and Icelandic sheep. We have 3 CSA options: the Parma CSA features our charcuteries, the Milano CSA includes a variety of our heritage and rare breed poultry and eggs, and the Siena CSA includes primary fresh pork cuts along with special recipes and options to attend cooking classes. Customers can also purchase Agricola products through our Farm Store or On-Line Farm Store (www.agricolavermont.com). We sell fresh chicken on the farm every Sunday from July to December. We also cater a seasonal BBQ-night hosted at Isham Farm (Oak Hill Rd., Williston) every Friday in September and October starting in September 13, 2013.

They have also done CSA's in the past with some of the following:
Eggs
Chicken
Turkey
Pork
Lamb
Charcuterie (cured meats), gourmet poultry (rare chickens, guinea hens and quail)

-Kelly here again.....

Another often asked for item is eggs. We have a couple of different vendors with farm fresh eggs. If there is something you're looking for and don't find it, check in with Kelly at the Market Office and she'll help you out.

Hope to see you at the market.
-Kelly King, JFM Market Manager.
