Wild Parsnip Management in Morse Park

Past event
Jul 16, 2022, 7 to 8:30 PM

This will be our fourth work session to tackle wild parsnip at Morse Park and Monkton Central School. Progress is being made!

Meet near the bridge over the stream at 7:00pm this Saturday the 16th. You could park in either parking lot. There is a section north of the bridge along the pond, which should be finished in about 45 minutes. After that (or in parallel if there are enough people) we will be working around the MCS ball field.

Usually we go for about 90 minutes, but you are free to come and go as needed.

What to wear/bring: long pants and sleeves are a must, along with gloves and sturdy boots/shoes (or other closed shoes). Hat, eye protection, & bug spray are recommended. If you have your own parsnip shovel, bring it along or almost any round point shovel will do. We will have some spare parsnip shovels to use. It will be warm so have some water with you and don't overdo it.

Newcomers to the project are welcome! No experience needed and we'll help you get started (takes just a couple minutes to get the idea of it). It is work, but not hard work. Easy to have a conversation or work on your own, as you like.

We hope to see you this Saturday, July 16th at 7:00pm!
