The Essex Jericho Underhill Ecumenical Ministry Food Shelf will hold a food distribution on Saturday July 16 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Route 15, Jericho. The Food Shelf, sponsored by 11 local churches, is open to all who in need. If this is your first visit, please bring a piece of identification. Pre-bagged food is still being distributed outside, with tables holding a choice of extra items, weather permitting.

Donations of staples may be placed in marked bins at the Jericho Market, Hannaford-Essex, and Price Chopper-Essex. Most needed items are peanut butter, baked beans and other canned ready to eat meals, cereal, canned fruits, boxed Mac and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce and other tomato products. Fresh produce can be dropped off at the church before 9 am on Saturday morning or by prior arrangement. Thank you to regular donors including Jericho Settlers Farm and to many community members who volunteer time and effort to provide food for 50-70 families each month.
