Join the National Walkout - Today on Craftsbury Common

Past event
Jul 13, 2022, 4 to 5 PM

TODAY, July 13th, There is a national action of civil disobedience, in protest of the Supreme Court overturning of Roe v. Wade earlier this month, from 4-5 pm encouraging participants to leverage their economic power through abstaining from labor.

The only power we have to move the needle is by leveraging our labor!

Two Ways to Participate
On Wednesday, July 13, walk out from work at 4 p.m. local time. We are gathering at the bandstand on the Common! Bring posters, bullhorns, and noise-makers!

If you can't leave work, you can still participate! In solidarity with abortion providers and people who are walking out, post on social media.

Together, our movement will make it clear: We won't back down — not now, not ever.

Why a Walkout?
The end of Roe v. Wade is NOT business as usual. Stripping people of their right to abortion will have dangerous consequences.

What Does This Have to Do With Work?
The Supreme Court's ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization harms people of all genders, incomes, and backgrounds — it harms workers, businesses, and the economy. It jeopardizes the future of work and each worker's future.

Now is the time to use your platform and your influence to support reproductive rights. You can participate as an individual, an affinity/employee resource group, or an organized group of coworkers.
