You've probably been hearing about how the 23 cemeteries in Halifax need a lot of deferred maintenance work.

We have some great volunteers and a new trio of Cemetery Commissioners doing a great job with this. Thanks Andrea Rand, and commissioners Gary Rand, Linda Gates Swanson, Patrick McAllister!

However, there are many hours of work and the budget is thin.

Please help:

What: Halifax Cemeteries VOLUNTEER WORK PARTY

Where: Pennel Hill Cemetery, at the very end of Pennel Hill Road off of Rte. 112, Halifax. Exact map location is copied below.

When: Saturday, July 16th, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Weather forecast looks good, but in case of rain: Sun., July 17th, 1-4 p.m.

How: Please bring a pair of gloves and we will have equipment to clear the grounds and improve the conditions in this gorgeous cemetery. The cemetery has been weed-whacked but lots of branches remain, and trees to be trimmed and moved. Many hands make light work.
