"Extra Row" Free Veggies Saturday 9-11, East Calais General Store
Summer's coming on strong, gardens are growing and our third season of "Extra Row" is underway. Renovations on the future East Calais General Store will begin later this summer. For now, we'll gather weekly (except 3rd Sat of each month - Woodbury/Calais Food Shelf) on the front porch to share extra veggies, herbs and flowers from our gardens with those who may need a little help with their food budget and/or who may not have a garden. All are welcome!
Here are the details: Bring your washed and trimmed garden produce Saturday between 9 – 11 (the earlier the better). We'll have a couple coolers but if you can put it in cardboard boxes or plastic bags, that'd be fine. The goal is to have all donations given away by 11 so that nothing ends up going in the compost pile.
If you would like to bake treats to contribute, please make and wrap individual servings to help everyone stay healthy.
"Extra Row," hosted by the East Calais Community Trust, is an informal weekly sharing of our gardens' bounty with our neighbors.
If you are unable to bring your extra produce but want to contribute, please ask a neighbor or friend to deliver it to the store.
