Join Ron Krupp in his garden at Tommy Thompson Community Garden this Saturday, June 14, 11:30am-12:45pm, for the 3rd Garden Basics workshop of the season! Ron, an acclaimed gardening author and long-time community gardener, will be sharing his tried-and-true techniques for giving plants the support they need this time of the season; touching on mulching, weeding, trellising, and more. Incorporated into this hands-on workshop will be lots of time for answering your garden questions!

Garden Basics is a series of garden-based workshops for beginner gardeners—whether you’re gardening at home or in a community setting. The workshops are held 7 Saturdays throughout the summer. These workshops are presented by the Vermont Community Garden Network in partnership with Burlington Area Community Gardens / Burlington Parks & Recreation. Remaining dates and topics include:

· June 14: Mulching, Weeding & Trellising Techniques
· June 28: Pests & Disease Prevention & Control
· July 26 (Come early for a brunch potluck, 10:00-11:30am): Food & Medicine from Your Weeds
· August 23: Using & Preserving Garden Produce
· September 27: Extending the Season & Putting the Garden to Bed
