Free music under starry summer skies!

Following a scaled-back event last summer, the Middlebury Summer Festival on-the-Green brings fabulous music back to the heart of beautiful-again downtown Middlebury — Addison County's Shire Town — during the week of July 10-16, 2022. This free, family-friendly music series, supported by community donations and volunteers, has earned designation for multiple years as a Vermont Top 10 Summer Event.

Kaleta & Super Yamba Band, showcasing Afro-funk dance music from Benin, Nigeria and NYC, provides a lively start to the week on Sunday, July 10. Great music continues with Bruce Molsky; Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem; Vermont Folklife Center Traditional Arts Showcase; É.T.É.; Radio Free Honduras; Reggie Harris; Damn Tall Buildings; Oshima Brothers; and CFI. Our special week concludes on Saturday, July 16, with a Street Dance to the Big Band sounds of the Vermont Jazz Ensemble.

The "Brown Bag" series returns this year with performances Monday-Friday, Noon-1:00 PM. The lineup features Magician Tom Verner; Mimealot; No Strings Marionette Company; Vermont Troubadour Jon Gailmor; and Middlebury Community Music Center Steel Drum Camp Band.

Events are held rain or shine under the big white tent on the Middlebury Village Green. Free admission; donations welcomed.
