The Essex Conservation Committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 in the conference room at the Town Offices, 81 Main Street. The agenda includes the following items:
- Development review (with the Trails Committee) of applications going before the Planning Commission on June 12 and 26:
1) Boundary adjustment of 1.04 acres between 4 Colonel Page Road and 167 Old Stage Road (June 12)
2) Boundary adjustment of 1.4 acres between 184 Towers Road and 200 Towers Road (June 12)
3) Site Plan review for the construction of a 2,800-square-foot auto repair facility at 258 Colchester Road (June 12)
4) Site Plan changes for a porch, entryway and roof at 111 Center Road; a shed at 113 Center Road; and a barn reconstruction at 115 Center Road (June 26)
5) Sketch review (the first of three steps required for full approval) for a 21-lot planned unit development at 15 and 21 Upper Main St. The subdivision is designed to have 34 residential units. (June 26)
- Discussion of trail improvements on public land behind Freeman Woods Road.
- Planning for an Essex Green Up Day in September
- Discussion about informing landowners of current use programs
- Discussion of a conservation fund and land trust
- Recap of the Forest Pest First Detector training session held on Saturday
- Notification of the 2016 Town Plan update
- Minutes from June 11, 2013; January 14, 2014; March 11, 2014; April 8, 2014; and May 13, 2014
- Other business
The Conservation Committee expects to have at least one seat available in the near future. Residents who would like to become more involved in conservation work in Essex are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the Conservation Committee's work.
