Hi everyone! The Knotweed crew from the Warren Conservation Commission would like to invite you to this week's community day. With your help, we will work to control invasive knotweed populations in the Mad River Valley.
For this week's community day on Wednesday, June 29th, from 4-6 pm, we'll be returning to Quayl Bend. There's plenty of work to do at this site, so come on by and help out for as long as you'd like.
Last week we made some pretty spectacular progress at riverside park with the help of a few volunteers.
Going forward, community days will continue every Wednesday, rotating through a handful of sites for the rest of the summer. Stay tuned each week for the location of our community day on Front Porch Forum and come join us!
My fellow interns and I are hoping to educate our community on the ins and outs of invasive knotweed. We're hoping to teach more people in the Valley about knotweed's effects on local ecosystems and what we can do to combat it. During the event, we'll mainly be pulling and clearing knotweed out of the site.
We hope you'll join us in our battle against invasive knotweed, we'll take as many hands as we can get!
