Lisa Carlson flute, Elizabeth Reid viola and violin, and Michael Close will perform the world premiere of Michael Close’s “Tombstone” – a light and thoroughly fun “spaghetti-western-inspired” piece, composed specifically for the trio, which should be enjoyable for audience members of all ages. Also on the program are Erik Nielsen’s “Voices in the Wind” commissioned by Lisa and Elizabeth for flute/viola duo and his “Another Take” for solo cello, as well as “Jewish Wedding Suite” by Michael Isaacson, known to Vermonters for his work with Counterpoint Vocal Ensemble, and “Antigone Speaks” by Sylvia Glickman for flute and viola. Suggested donation of $10.

On Friday June 13, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Richmond Free Library, Vermont, the Passeri Trio and pianist Alison Bruce Cerutti will perform an chamber music concert of contemporary works. Along with the above mentioned repertoire from the Thursday concert, this concert will feature the pianist Alison Bruce Cerutti who will perform the world premiere of Northfield Falls composer Dennis Bathory-Kitsz’ colorful and impressionistic “Scalar Rainbows” for solo piano. Admission is by donation.

The Passeri Trio, Lisa Carlson, flute, Elizabeth Reid, violin and viola, and Michael Close, cello, was formed in January of 2011. The group has performed at resorts, fundraisers, and other events throughout Vermont, including a full hour televised music program through ORCA Media Studios.

Alison Bruce Cerutti, pianist, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Vermont, and as a flute accompanist in the United States and France. She is an accomplished musician with numerous solo and collaborative credits to her name, from piano recitals to orchestral appearances to chamber music concerts.
