Mark your calendar for the first Friends of the Mad River Community Climate Chat! You're invited to Vermont's Changing Climate – What the MRV Can Expect, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Tuesday, July 5th at the pavilion at Lareau Farm, home of American Flatbread, in Waitsfield. Co-hosted by Mad River Valley Planning District, this in-person event will share highlights and address community questions from the recently-released Vermont Climate Assessment which illustrates how hallmarks of Vermont life are being impacted by climate change, from farming and maple syrup to long winters and skiing.
The evening will feature Dr. Stephen Posner, Director of Policy with the Gund Institute for Environment at the University of Vermont, & Dr. Gillian Galford, Fellow of the Gund Institute for Environment at the University of Vermont, and will be moderated by Heather Furman, Vermont State Director for The Nature Conservancy.
Tickets for the event are free, but registration is required. Visit https://www.friendsofthemadriver.org/climate.html to register and learn more about the event.
Tickets include American Flatbread and veggie appetizers and there will be an open cash bar. Donations will be accepted to help make this and future events freely accessible to all. Friends and the Mad River Valley Planning District look forward to engaging in these exciting climate conversations with the community.
