To All Who "Floated" Down the Brownsville-Hartland Road in the 2021 July 4th Parade and Those Who Wish They Had……..
It's THAT time again! Time to celebrate Independence Day, and this opportunity to again come together and enjoy the family, friends, neighbors and community that make life so wonderful. Living in the shadow of Mt. Ascutney, and near many other lovely mountains, it is perfect that our theme this year is "The Hills Are Alive!"
This year, events begin on SUNDAY, JULY 3, 6pm - dusk, with music, food, fireworks and family fun on Mt. Ascutney at the Ascutney Outdoors Center.
On Monday, July 4th, the Village-wide celebration will begin at 8:30am with a Pancake Breakfast, music, games, food vendors and crafts, followed by the Fabulous Parade!! Parade line-up begins at 1:00 pm and the parade will begin promptly at 1:30pm. Isn't this year the time for you to get together and celebrate your family and friends/neighbors by creating a float and being part of the parade?
Participating in the parade is simple. Just email Janet England through this FPF post NO LATER THAN JUNE 28 to receive an entry form, or to ask any questions you might have. Your "float," can be your car, truck, tractor, bicycle, horse – whatever! This is NOT Macy's or the Rose Bowl parade;-} When possible, having signage on both sides helps advertise. Have fun!
There will be ribbons and cash prizes for parade participants in the categories of Most Patriotic, Most Humorous, and Best Celebration of the Theme. We look forward to seeing you all there!
