Waterbury Rotary's "Concert in the Park" – June 23th, 2022

This Thursday and every consecutive Thursday through the 2022 summer season, the Rotary Club of Waterbury presents FREE musical concerts at the Rusty Parker Memorial Park in Downtown Waterbury. This Thursday's concert will be the John Lackard Blues Band performing Blues and Groves music. This year marks the Rotary Club's 40th year of "Concerts in the Park", and its 85th Anniversary of service to the Waterbury community and surrounding area. This "Concert in the Park" series is believed to be the longest consecutive running FREE to the public cultural arts series of its type in Vermont.

Come join us with family and friends that will be bringing their lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic supper or purchase your supper from a variety of vendors on site. Come early and shop from the numerous food vendors and booths set up at the Waterbury Farmer's Market, 4:00 - 7:00 pm. See you there and pick up a full schedule of this year's musical performers and play this week's 50/50 Raffle with the proceeds from this Thursday going to support the Rotary's Cultural Arts Programs, including "Concerts in the Park.

Don't forget that this Saturday, June 25th, is Waterbury's own " Not Quite Independence Day (NQID)" festival. The Waterbury Rotary Club will open the Rusty Parker Memorial Park (So. Main St.) at 3:00 PM for public access to the food and specialty vendors and the Lawson's Finest beer tent. The Green Mountain Mile run begins at 3:30 PM on So. Main with the 4:00 PM " Freedom & Unity " Parade to follow. After the parade the festival will continue at the Rusty Parker Memorial Park with Barbie n' Bones in concert beginning at 6:00 PM and Waterbury's Grand Fireworks Show on the grounds of the State Complex accessed off South Main by Park Row So. and State Drive (follow the signs for ample event parking and the fireworks).

Everyone is asked to adhere to the State of Vermont COVID-19 prevention guidelines in effect. Also, for the safety of the performers, Farmers Market vendors and the crowd…please remind guests and your children that unleashed dogs, bike riding, ball playing, climbing on structures and trees, and running through the gardens or crowd are prohibited during the event.

On the following Thursday, June 30rd, " AL's PALS " will perform some originals and their own musical twist on much more.

If inclement weather threatens the performance, listen to WDEV Radio Thursday afternoons for notification of cancellation.
