St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Fair Haven is pleased to host an Organ Program by Dr. Karl E. Moyer of Lancaster, PA. on June 29. The program will begin at 7:00pm with a service of Evening Prayer, followed by the pipe organ program, and concluding with a reception with light refreshments.
Dr. Moyer will present his selections on the church's Smith-Gilbert Pipe Organ built/installed 2019.
Admission is free. St. Luke's is located at 146 N. Main St in Fair Haven VT and is fully accessible.
Dr. Moyer holds a doctorate in organ performance and church music from Eastman School of Music.
He has issued a CD partly recorded on the 1865 Hook pipe organ in First Congregational Church, Orwell, VT. During the Fair Haven program he will play four pieces based on familiar hymn tunes. The program will open and close with works of JS Bach. The final offering will be Bach's gigantic Fantasie and Fugue in G minor. Although the piece was written for a large organ in Germany, it succeeds well on the Fair Haven organ, which despite its smaller size has the essentials needed to project Bach's music.
Bring the family or friends. Come and enjoy a delightful evening of music & fellowship!
