Sundog Poetry Center is thrilled to announce the 2022 Justice and Poetry event:
People of the Dawnland: Voices of today and tomorrow. Indigenous Poetry of New England
Please join us on July 22nd at the Kill Kare State Park in St. Albans, featuring the indigenous writer Suzanne Rancourt, as well as a group of local poets, storytellers, musicians, and visual artists. The event will be catered, free to attend, the event will kick off at 6 and continue until the sun sets. at the pavilion. Stay tuned for more details!
Suzanne S. Rancourt, Abenaki/Huron descent, has authored Billboard in the Clouds, Northwestern Univ. Press, (received the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas First Book Award,) murmurs at the gate, Unsolicited Press, 2019, Old Stones, New Roads, Main Street Rag Publishing, 2021. Her 4th book, Songs of Archilochus, Unsolicited Press is forthcoming 2023. Ms. Rancourt is a participating fellow in Nature Culture's Writing the Land Project, and was a guest artist at U of MI's New England Literature Program. A USMC and Army Veteran, Suzanne is a multimodal Expressive Arts Therapist. Advanced degrees include psychology, writing, Credentialed Drug and Alcohol counselor, Aikido and Iaido.
