Royalton Memorial Library kicks off their 2022 Summer Reading Program. The national theme this year is "Oceans of Possibilities". The library will offer a new activity each week throughout the summer. The activities are targeted for school age children, but all ages are welcome. Painting an ocean scene and creating your own fish mobile are a couple of the events coming up.
To make the events more accessible, this year we will be offering 2 sessions of each activity. "Make an Ocean Themed Shadow Box" is our first activity and will be held on Tuesday June 21 at 10 AM and again on Thursday, June 23rd at 1 PM. This craft will involve using scissors, paper and glue to create an exciting ocean scene of your own design.
To help encourage kids to read throughout the summer, they can earn points for every 20 minutes of reading. We ask kids to tell us a little bit about the book they have read and what they liked and or did not like about the book. Kids will earn points for every 20 minutes of reading. Later in the summer, points can be exchanged for small prizes. Stop by or contact the library for the summer reading schedule.
The library is open Tuesday thru Friday 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM. If you would like to talk with us, call 763-7094 or email: librarian@royaltonlibrary.org.
