Folks, Rick Ward has planned a field trip for his fellow Master Naturalist classmates. He and I will lead it and it will take place this Saturday at 9 AM on the Pitch Pine Trail here in Salisbury. We will be looking at trees, birds, and wildlife sign. We set the limit at 18 participants but still have room for a five more people. If you would like to join us, contact Rick to register. Here are the details:
When: Saturday, June 18, 2022; 9:00 am to 11:30 am
You are invited to join Jim Andrews and Rick Ward (a recent graduate of the Vermont Master Naturalist program) for an informative walk on the Pitch Pine Trail in the Salisbury Town Forest. The 1.7 mile trail walk will focus on the variety of birds that live in the forest, tree identification, and some general natural history of the forest.
Where to Meet: Park and meet at the Pitch Pine Trailhead which is about a quarter mile east on Plains Road from Rt 7 in Salisbury. The small parking lot will be on the right (southside) where you will also see the trailhead kiosk. You will receive a screenshot of an aerial view and more information after you register.
