The BFFS are back in action again!
The youthful team that organized and raised more than $800 for charitable causes is ready to do it again – and this time, it promises to be even bigger!
BFF Creations, the brainchild of Essex best friends Lilian Thompson and Adilyn Bigenho, present their second annual Spring Cares Craft Fair on Sunday, June 19. The event runs from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Sand Hill Park Pavilion. Admission is free, and all proceeds will be for the benefit of designated charities.
The girls formed BFF Creations for the former BeCAUSE Craft Show at St. Michael's College. After that show folded, the BFFs decided they would create their own show. They're now joined by younger siblings who are also BFFs.
The crew has been busy creating a wide selection of crafts, art, food, stress relief items and more. Sales of the items will be donated to a range of nonprofit organizations, including the UVM Medical Center Children's Hospital, ANEW Place in Burlington and Danny & Ron's Rescue, a South Carolina-based organization that has rescued over 12,000 dogs from "kill" shelters.
In addition, the young people will donate part of their proceeds to a relief organization serving the needs of refugees in Ukraine.
Their goals are simple and heartfelt. "I help the children's hospital have money to help more kids because they helped my sisters when they were sick," explains Lilian. The 7th grader at Essex Middle School wants to inspire her peers to do what they can to help other people. Adilyn, an EMS 6th grade student, agrees. "It's really important to support people and organizations that need help, especially if they aren't well known."
