The Old North End Neighborhood Band (ONE Band) is hosting a piano deconstruction on Thursday, June 16th from 9am to 1pm at the Boys & Girls Club. This free workshop will allow young people and interested adults to carefully disassemble our beloved and doomed piano. Acoustic pianos are truly amazing machines and participants will have a rare opportunity to really understand the mechanics and acoustics of the instrument. This beloved piano served the ONE Band for many years and was played by hundreds of young people at the B&G Club. Tragically, it was showered with water from failed plumbing. Jazz legend Chuck Eller has graciously donated a replacement keyboard for the ONE Band so this marks an important transition as the band reforms. Come by early if you want a final tune.
