Latin Dance ‘Fiesta' June 17 in So Ro

The exuberant traditions of Afro-Caribbean rhythms are woven together with Central American tunes making for the signature sounds of Latin dance band Mal Maiz. Performing from the porch of the BLACK LIVES MATTER HOUSE (located adjacent to the Green) in South Royalton on FRI. JUNE 17 FROM 7-10 PM, this Summer Solstice Fiesta features native of Costa Rican frontman Brujo Maiz Vargas Sandoval, and blends traditional Cumbia, Latin, and Reggae motifs into a tapestry of world music with a contemporary and energetic twist. It's a free dance offered by BALE (Building A Local Economy) with any/all donations going to support the creation of a commercial kitchen in the BLM House. Moons & Stars food truck provides arepas and other delicious traditional offerings.
