Community Restorative Justice Circle

Past event
Jun 15, 2022, 6 to 7 PM

Join us on the third Wednesday of every month at the Winooski Memorial Library for our Community Restorative Justice Circle. Facilitated by Kayla Loving, Restorative Justice Coordinator at Spectrum Youth & Family Services, the circle is one of the most well-known restorative justice practices.

We will eat together and sit in circle to discuss current events and this month focus on the recent Robb Elementary school shooting in Uvalde, TX. Led by Asher Rich, Restorative Justice Intern, they aim to provide a safe space to discuss the intense emotions that come with these horrific events and how we can better cope as a community in these instances of hardship.

If you have an interest in getting to know your neighbors on a deeper level, learning about restorative justice, and organizing for change, consider joining us. Everyone is welcome. Interpretation can be provided if we are notified ahead of time.

Our next meeting will be held at the Winooski Memorial Library on Wednesday, June 15th from 6 - 7 PM.

"Restorative justice is a philosophy and set of practices, rooted in indigenous teachings, that emphasize our interconnection by repairing relationships when harm occurs while proactively building and maintaining relationships to prevent future harm" (Amplify RJ).
