Colin McCaffrey ~ Singer, Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist

The Friends of the Plainfield Opera House are excited to announce the next concert in the Spring 2022 Series: the one and only Colin McCaffrey.

Colin is a 5th generation Vermonter originally from Westminster, VT. He is a recording engineer, producer, composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and session musician with a BA in Music Composition from Berklee College of Music. He was a finalist in both the 2010 and 2020 USA Songwriting Competitions, won first prize in 2012 for best jazz song, and first prize (Bluegrass category) in the 2009 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest.
He wrote and arranged music for the 1999 Circus Smirkus Production "The Adventures of Robin Hood", which is the focus of a British documentary film series entitled "Circus Kids" aired on the Disney Channel 2000. If you're in the WDEV or WNCS listening area, you've probably heard Colin's jingles for Capitol grounds, Onion River Sports, The Shoe Horn, Planned Parenthood, and Cabot Creamery.

Colin will perform a stylistically diverse set of original songs and talk about how each one came into existence. Often seen in a supporting role as a musical director or sideman, this is an opportunity to hear him in this beautiful setting as a soloist.
