The Office of City Planning and Community & Economic Development Office (CEDO), in partnership with the University of Vermont (UVM) would like to invite you to attend a virtual community meeting on June 23, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., to discuss the new on-campus UVM student housing opportunities through zoning changes for UVM's Trinity Campus. During the meeting, you will have an opportunity to learn more about the goals for re-zoning of Trinity Campus and to provide input on potential zoning changes.
Re-zoning of Trinity Campus to accommodate more student housing has been under consideration for quite some time. planBTV identified the Trinity Campus and Colchester Avenue Corridor in institutional and major thoroughfare growth areas. Re-zoning of Trinity Campus is also a part of the Mayor's December 2021 Housing Action Plan, to reduce UVM's pressure on the housing market.
UVM has reiterated its ongoing commitment to housing its students and has a number of ideas for housing expansion and enhancements on Trinity Campus. These include, not only upgrades to some of the existing residence halls, but construction of new undergraduate housing, graduate apartments and enhancements to the sense of community. You can preview information about zoning for Trinity Campus, here.
