After just being out camping in a cleared area, then digging out two embedded critters and visiting the doctor, I wanted to repost this important presentation. Be aware. It is going to be a tough summer!

Back by popular demand! And during evening hours!!
The Medical Reserve Corps of Lamoille Valley (MRC) is doing a presentation on ticks, including how to avoid them and how to remove them. It will be at the Second Congregational Church in Jeffersonville on THURSDAY, JUNE 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Anyone who plans on getting out into nature, walking in the Krusch Nature Preserve, or even walking on the bike path can benefit from this information.
Diseases spread by ticks continue to be a serious public health concern. Tick-borne diseases are being reported to the Health Department much more frequently lately. Although Lyme is the most common disease transmitted by ticks, other serious diseases such as anaplasmosis and babesiosis are on the rise as well.
Handouts will be available, as well as TICK REMOVAL KITS! Please come if you have the time.
