28th ANNUAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL IN MONKTON
The 28th Annual Strawberry Festival, Book Sale and Silent Auction to benefit the Russell Memorial Library will be held at the Monkton Central School on Sunday June 22nd from 12:00 til 3pm. As ever, the strawberries will be local and fresh-picked, the cake homemade, the ice cream mouth-watering and the hot dogs plump and ready. Rows and rows of used books - hard, soft, adult, children's, fiction and non-fiction - will be available for browsing and buying at bargain prices. There'll also be a silent auction of local goods and services. And to put you in the mood for all of the above, there'll be lively Quebecois fiddle and folk music from Stephanie Lepine and Nicholas Williams. Donations of books (NO encyclopedias, condensed books, magazines, videos in ANY format or CDs PLEASE) will be accepted at the library during regular hours. For more info, call 453-4471. A great tradition for Monkton, a great time for the whole family and a great opportunity to support YOUR library! More info at: Russell Memorial Library
