The VT Bluegrass Pioneers as a trio (Danny Coane, guitar/banjo/voc; Banjo Dan Lindner, banjo/guitar/voc and Willy Lindner, mandolin/voc) will be appearing at Bent Nails Bistro, 4 Langdon St (corner of Langdon & Elm) this Sat June 4th from 7 - 9pm. No cover - just donations (tips). Unfortunately, they will not have their bass player, Sam Blagden, joining them for this gig. This will be the first appearance at Bent Nails for this group of seasoned bluegrass pros who have many years of experience between them and who were, in fact, some of the truly early "pioneers" playing bluegrass music in Vermont, starting in the mid-60's (Coane) and early-70's (Lindners). The Lindners were founders of "Banjo Dan & the Mid-Nite Plowboys", one of Vermont's premier bluegrass bands for 40 yrs (1972-2012) and Coane has been a member of several famous Vermont bands, including The Starline Rhythm Boys for the past 24 yrs. Hope folks come out for this early show to enjoy some real-deal, hard-core, old-school bluegrass music.
