The Richmond Farmers Market is a living organism. It grows and shrinks, adapts and evolves. It scraped by in 2020, rehabilitated in 2021 (with much TLC and dedication from the Board, managers, and customers), and is coming in STRONG for the first market of 2022! We have had overwhelming interest from vendors of all kinds and we cannot wait to share a robust season with you all. This Friday, June 3, from 3-6:30 pm, will indeed be quite the grand opening - you won't want to miss it!
Plus, we already have quite the lineup of music and events. Check our website for the lineup calendar and more details.
This week we welcome Fiddlehead Hollow to the bandshell stage. This crew performs original music in the traditional old time style. The duo of Eric Bushey (Banjo/Guitar/Vocals) and Rusty Charpentier (Fiddle/Guitar/Vocals) plays everything from barn-burning fiddle tunes to epic ballads and drinking songs. Always engaging and energizing, Fiddlehead Hollow is sure to excite audiences!
Also, we are excited for the return of Dan Hallberg with his traveling, mowing...goats! Hallberg Goat Mowing offers a low impact, ecologically friendly, and fun alternative to reclaiming overgrown land or mitigating invasive plant species. The goats happily chew their way through unwanted vegetation while improving soil quality at the same time and are a far more enjoyable watch than brush hogging equipment. Come meet these hard working creatures at the market this Friday and maybe even schedule a date to put them to work on your land.
A note about parking…please(!), please(!), please(!) park on the left side of the Volunteer's Green municipal parking lot, along the road heading to the baseball fields, or at the municipal lot by the town hall. Do not park on the right side of the parking lot which is reserved for Stones Throw Pizza customers only.
