Seeking volunteers on Saturday, June 4, 9 am to noon to cut down invasive honeysuckle on the town or communal property.
I will buy cremes at JCC for all participants at noon.
We need help in cutting with loppers, hand saws, and moving cut brush.
Meet up at 8:50 am at the Jericho Green near the Library. If you have them, bring loppers, a hand saw, safety glasses, gloves, and water to drink. Dress for protection from ticks. I will have a few extra tools.
I am happy to note that on my last communal area cutting (three hours on May 31) the honeysuckle removal freed up many oaks, cherry, and other tree saplings as well as native shrubs such as Nannyberry and American Cranberry.
See my website for information about Invasive Honeysuckle. https://jerichovermont.blogspot.com/2022/05/jerichos-kudzu-combatting-invasive.html
If it rains I will post a re-scheduled date on FPF.
