Baxter Memorial Library in Sharon, Vermont is preparing for our annual Plant, Book & Bake Sale on Saturday, June 4, 9am-2pm! PLANTS
We're asking gardeners to contribute annuals, veggies or houseplants - NO TRANSPLANTS this year due to the presence of the Asian Jumping Worm in Vermont. Drop off donated plants in the back of the library Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, June 3.
BOOKS
Books can be dropped off 2-6pm May 31-June 2 or Friday afternoon during setup. There are certain items we are unable to accept: encyclopedias, textbooks, computer manuals, travel guides, condensed books, magazines, vinyl records, cassette tapes, and VHS tapes. Because finding homes for unwanted books is extraordinarily difficult these days, we are only able to accept sellable items in good condition. Please don't leave books on the porch.
BAKED GOODS
Want to help the library by baking something scrumptious? We're looking for pies, tea breads, cookies, cakes, bars, or anything else that would satisfy a sweet tooth! Goodies can be dropped off at the library on Friday, June 2 or Saturday morning before the sale.
SPECIAL TREATS
We'll have music by Emerson Gale and friends from 9:30-11:00, and don't forget to purchase raffle tickets to win a beautiful quilt sewn by the talented Eileen Lanza that honors Henry Clay (1777-1852), a staunch abolitionist well known for his multiple attempts at the presidency prior to the Civil War.
SEE YOU ON JUNE 4TH!
Looks like it's shaping up to be a gorgeous day for a plant sale. Or a book sale. Or a bake sale. Or, well, all three! Stop by between 9am and 2pm, grab a slice of cake and some coffee, listen to some rousing fiddle tunes, browse the books, and take home some lovely plants for your garden. Aren't Saturdays in June the best?
