Travels in the Mind During Covid Time

Join us for the opening reception for Travels in the Mind during Covid Time, a photo journey with artists Barbara Flack and Orah Moore. The show will be at the Haston Library until August 4th and can be viewed during the library's open hours. At the opening, the artists will be present to speak about their work.

The project began in 2020 as Flack and Moore met early one morning in St Albans with an eye toward the pre-dawn light. With a variety of fashions and props (especially vintage suitcases), they invented the Wise Woman and the Traveler. The world was closed to exploration due to the spread of the Coronavirus, so the two artists created a world of travel for their characters… places inspired by Paris, Nepal, The Wild West…and… Franklin, VT, across the seasons, without crossing borders. They wove in and out of the landscape and the light, exploring movement and transporting themselves from one place to another. It was a time of aloneness, quarantining, and introspection. Traveling alone…together…going nowhere.
