Not Quite Independence Day (NQUID)

Not Quite Independence Day, or NQID, is back for a full slate of fun Fourth of July-style festivities happening on June 25, 2022 in downtown Waterbury. This annual event, organized by the Waterbury Rotary Club, is the perfect way to kick off Independence Day and get started on celebrating a little early!

The Green Mountain Mile returns this year, and the fun run heads from the Ice Center down Main Street just before the parade starts at 4 pm. This year's parade theme is "Freedom & Unity" so attendees and participants alike are invited to join in and help us celebrate the great state of Vermont. The parade will start at the State Office Complex and end by Dac Rowe Field, providing plenty of spots along the route for folks to enjoy the many floats, bands, performers, and more.

After the parade, vendors will be set up in Rusty Parker Memorial Park with food, beer, sweets, crafts, and other fun treats, and at 6 pm, Barbie-N-Bones will take the bandstand for a concert that promises to be a "booty shakin' good time!" The park will also be packed with kids activities, including face painting and a variety of fun games. A spectacular fireworks display will start at dusk behind the State Office Complex and be visible from all over Waterbury.

All of the NQID events are free, however donations are welcome in the park and at the fireworks to help offset the cost of the day and support the Club's programs. For more information, visit waterburyvtrotary.org/page/nqid.
