Brookline will hold a plant sale on May 28th, 9-11 am on the steps of the Brookline Meetinghouse at 632 Grassy Brook Road. This is the perfect weekend to fill in those empty spaces in your garden beds! Expect to find a wide assortment of plants grown right in your neighborhood: Liatris, Hosta, Bee Balm, Monkshood, Bugbane, Valerian, Epimedium, Astilbe, Queen of the Prairie (Filipendula rubra), Iris, sedum, yellow Yarrow and many more.
Fellow gardeners interested in donating some of their plants (veggie sets too) can drop them off on the Meetinghouse steps Friday afternoon or Saturday before 9. There will be labels available to mark your plants if needed. Ideally there will be enough interest to make this an annual event.
In case of rain the plants will be inside in the church vestibule where both plants and people can stay dry. We hope you will add us to your stops in the surrounding towns of Athens, Wardsboro and Townshend when you are looking for those special deals or "just the right thing" for your garden this summer. All sales will be considered donations to the Brookline Meetinghouse restoration fund.
