Students, staff and families of Brookside Primary and Crossett Brook Middle Schools are invited to participate in the 2022 Spring Walk and Bike to School this Wednesday, May 25th. Participants will meet at Rusty Parker Park for bagels, fruit, juice and coffee before walking or biking to school. Brookside participants will meet at the park at 7:00am, with a 7:20am departure to school. Crossett Brook participants will meet at the park at 7:45 with an 8:05 departure time.
We ask the public to please be aware that there will be an unusual amount of children walking and biking to school especially around the Rusty Parker Park area.
Special thanks to Waterbury LEAP for supplying the breakfast items, and to KC Bagels, Bike Express, and Waterbury Sports for their support of this event.
Walk and Bike to School is a program sponsored by Safe Routes to School (SRTS). SRTS programs engage community members, school staff and administrators, transportation and public health professionals and others to improve the health and well-being of children by enabling and encouraging them to walk and roll to school.
